Microsoft Flight release date announced

Flight Simulator replacement takes off this month.

Free-to-play PC plane sim Microsoft Flight takes to the skies from 29th February.

You'll be able to download it from the game's official site.

The game's first expansion, titled Hawaiian Adventure Pack, launches the same day, priced at 1600 Microsoft Points.

The add-on offers hundreds of miles of additional airspace to explore, 20 new missions, new challenges and a new plane - the two-seater Vans RV-6A.

Two additional planes will also be available to purchase. The Maule M-7-260C is a "rugged utitlity aircraft" and will set you back 1200 Points via Games For Windows, while the vintage North American P-51 Mustang fighter plane goes for 640 Points.

The difference in price is down to the fact that you'll only get an external view while flying the Mustang but the Maule also offers a cockpit perspective.

Microsoft Flight is the new face of the long-running Flight Simulator series, which last left the hangar in 2006 with Flight Simulator X.
