Microsoft Band is a health-focused smart device for your wrist

Tracks sleep, heart rate, calories, stress, sun exposure.

Nintendo isn't the only company with eyes on the health market - Microsoft has unveiled Microsoft Band, its first wearable device that tracks sleep and stress levels.

The $199 (£125) gadget can also detect your heart rate, calorie burn and sun exposure.

It then links to the new cloud-based Microsoft Health platform, which stores and analyses all of the collected data.

Microsoft Band can function as a regular smartdevice for your wrist, too - displaying messages, tweets and reminders.

Companion apps have also been launched for Windows, iOS and Android phones.

The device will go on sale first in the US via Microsoft's online store. No release plans have yet been set for the UK.
