Fans really want to have sex with Mass Effect's new alien

Jaal rules.

Romance has always been a key part of Mass Effect for fans, many of whom still champion some of the series' more unusal pairings.

Romanced Liara? Boring! How about Garrus? Already your best bro, Garrus was perfect partner material - even if BioWare always cut to black when the turian got in the mood. Then there was the terminally ill Thane, who provided a bittersweet relationship arc.

Now, with Mass Effect Andromeda just weeks away, fans are already picking who they'll hook up with next. The somewhat surprising early favourite? Jaal.

"He's beautiful," one fan wrote on the unofficial BioWare forum upon first seeing the character. "*blush*"

"That is the cutest thing I've seen in a while <3," typed another.

Said a third: "I am gunna bang that monocle rat lobster."

Mass Effect fans have already produced a small gallery of fanart for the angaran, who is one of the new races players will meet in Andromeda.

Fans have been pestering Mass Effect's staff on Twitter to find out whether they can have sex with Jaal in the game. (BioWare has suggested yes, but not whether Jaal is available to just the male or female main character, or both.)

A mixture of Star Wars' Twi'leks, Avatar's Na'vi race and BioWare's own early, discarded designs for Mass Effect's quarians, the angaran race - not to mention Jaal's own trenchcoat and eyepiece - has got fans flustered.

"I really wonder what they look like under their trenchcoat," one fan wrote in a recent discussion on the Mass Effect reddit. "For scientific reasons..."

"My new Garrus," opined another.

Fans have not been shy about sharing their thoughts on Twitter, either:

Oh, and if you need to know, the answer is yes. There is already Jaal porn.
