Marvel's Avengers hosting three beta weekends in August

Introductory livestream due later this month.

Fans of superheroes going thwack! and apostrophes will no doubt be thrilled to learn that developer Crystal Dynamics' Marvel's Avengers' beta season now has a start date, and will be getting underway from Friday, 7th August.

Crystal Dynamics is actually holding three beta weekends in total, with that first 7th-9th August session being exclusive to those that have pre-ordered Marvel's Avengers for PS4. No start times have been specified as yet, and you'll need to register to get involved.

Because it wouldn't be the modern day video gaming if we weren't continually subjected to convoluted pre-release marketing nonsense, the next beta weekend, which runs from 14th-16th August, will be open to all PS4 players, but only those on PC and Xbox One who've pre-ordered a copy of the game. As you might have already guessed, the final beta weekend, running from 21st-23rd August, is open to everyone on all platforms.

Although you may be curious to know what you'll actually be able to do during the beta, Crystal Dynamics isn't quite ready to share those details yet. Instead, you'll need to take another seat on the pre-release hype train on 29th July, at 6pm UK time, to uncover those details. That information will be arriving in the form of a new Marvel's Avengers War Table livestream.

Marvel's Avengers gets its full PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC release on 4th September.
