How to unlock both the fun fair and the purple house.

If you want to complete the second chapter of Maquette, aptly named The Maquette which is unlocked after completing The Gardens, then you need to solve both the golden ticket and purple house puzzle.

The golden ticket puzzle occurs first and will grant you access to the fun fair, while the purple house is the last puzzle you need to solve in this chapter.

How to move the red block in Maquette

Welcome to the second chapter of Maquette called The Maquette!

The first step in this chapter is very easy - simply head towards the castle to the left of the dome and watch the cutscene.

Once the scene is over, go inside the dome to find the maquette.

The model is a perfect, bit it smaller, replica of the location you're currently in. There's even a smaller version of the red block which is blocking your entrance to the southern area.

Pick up the small red block within the maquette and place it anywhere outside of the dome - just make sure it isn't blocking another entrance. Doing this will also move the red block outside of the maquette, granting you access to the southern area.

How to fix the southern bridge in Maquette

Now you can access the southern area in this chapter of Maquette, it's time to fix the bridge found within it.

First, however, you need to visit the southern area and drop down into the garden below.

Drop down here.

Afterwards, turn immediately around and head into the elevator. Here you'll find a model of a bridge; pick up this model and the elevator will automatically return you to the upper level.

Now, it's time to return the dome and place the bridge between the two turret models in the replica for the southern area. The model may require some rotation to ensure it's facing the right way and you'll be able to use it's shadow, and glowing outline, to ensure it's in the right place before you drop it.

If all goes well there will now be a bridge connecting the turrets both in the maquette and within your world.

Cross the bridge to access the furthest turret in the southern area and then ride the elevator to the roof garden.

Collect the ticket you find and then use the furthest elevator to return back to the ground.

Golden ticket puzzle solution in Maquette

While you may have a golden ticket for the fun fair in Maquette, it's a little too big to fit into the box, so it's time to do some downsizing!

To downsize the ticket, place it anywhere outside of the dome.

Now, go look at the maquette within the dome to find a smaller version of the ticket exactly where you placed it.

You can now pick this smaller version of the ticket up and, while holding it out in front of you, take it to the fun fair gate on the right-hand side of the dome.

With that the fun fair open for business!

Fun fair in Maquette explained

Take a short walk around the fun fair in Maquette, before returning to the dome.

On your journey, you mostly saw the ghostly words and heard the sounds of machinery. These discoveries are reflected in the maquette, where you'll now see a new section behind the fun fair, which contains some machinery.

Press the button on the machinery within the maquette to lower the wall both in the model and in the world you walk through.

Afterwards, return to the fun fair and go through the doorway you just opened and walk towards the fortune telling machine.

How to open the purple house door in Maquette

Once the cutscene is over in Maquette, pick up the key which appears and use it to open the door located to the north of the central dome.

With the door open, take the key out of the lock and return to the maquette. Just like the bridge model, you need to use the key to create a pathway between the two sides of the northern location. Again this will involve rotating the key to ensure it lines up perfectly.

When you've correctly placed the key, leave the maquette and walk across the giant key in the northern area to watch the next cutscene. After it's finished, head back to the dome and the castle will transform into a purple house.

To open this house, you'll first want to take the key from the maquette and place it outside of the dome to downsize it.

Return to the maquette and pick up the smaller version of the key. Still focusing on the maquette, use this smaller key to open the house's front door - you may need to climb into the maquette to achieve this.

Use the small key on the smaller version of the purple house.

With the door open, place the smaller key outside the dome within the maquette. This will allow you to retrieve the larger version of the key from the plaza surrounding the dome.

The final thing to do is return to the maquette and, using the upscaled version of the key, place it as a bridge between the house and dome plaza. With the key in place, you can now leave the maquette and cross over to the house, completing this chapter.

The next chapter is titled The Gateways and we also have a guide on the trophies for Maquette.
