Little Mac comes to Super Smash Bros.

Big Mac and fries.

Super Smash Bros. extensive character roster got another boost, with Punch Out's Little Mac now being added to the Wii U and 3DS brawler.

The news came as part of a Nintendo Direct focussed on the Spring line-up for the Wii U and 3DS. The last Punch Out was released on the Wii in 2009 courtesy of Next Level Games.

There's still no firm date for the release of Super Smash Bros., but we at least know it's likely to be the most comprehensive entry in the series to date. Little Mac becomes the 23rd character to be revealed, joining the likes of Mega Man, Fire Emblem's Marth and least thrillingly the Wii Fit Trainer.
