Kojima Productions reveals Fox Engine

Next game to be built on the new tech.

Hideo Kojima's next game will be built on his studio's new Fox Engine, the Metal Gear Solid creator announced during Konami's pre-E3 showcase this evening.

In the works since the conclusion of Metal Gear Solid 4 production, Kojima explained that the new tech would facilitate "shortened development time" for "multiplatform" titles.

He added that his aim was to make the engine "the best in the world".

Kojima didn't offer many clues as to the nature of the title he's currently working on using the new system, but did show a brief tech demo in which a boy explored a lush jungle environment. He did emphasise that the demo didn't necessarily have anything to do with his new game though.

He added that 2011 is a "year of preparations" and that he'd be present at E3 2012 to discuss his plans in greater details.
