Kinect sold out at GAME

And Amazon stops taking pre-orders.

High street games retailer GAME has sold out of its initial allotment of Kinect units, weeks before Microsoft's new system has even launched.

A message on its website reads "We've hit our limit for launch but you can still pre-order for a priority place in the queue. As soon as we have more stock in, we will make sure we get your order to you."

Amazon has stopped taking pre-orders, but it is still available at HMV.co.uk and Play, although the latter comes with a caveat that any orders may not ship on launch day.

Last month, Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg predicted that Kinect would sell more than three million units before the end of 2010. Looks like it's well on its way.

Kinect launches on 10th November, priced around £129.99.
