Killzone PSP gets DLC

New missions, infrastructure mode.

Sony has revealed that Killzone: Liberation will be the first PSP game to be given downloadable content.

Fans of the title will get the opportunity to take on a new chapter of the story, on top of a new Infrastructure mode made possible by the freshly launched website. The new features can be accessed via the downloads button on the in-game menu, and they're all completely free.

The additional fifth chapter adds four new missions to the game, sending you on a wild goose-chase to find the missing squad sergeant Rico. Sony reckons there's around two hours of game in there, although you'll only gain access to the new parts if you've completed the previous four chapters.

Infrastructure mode, on the other hand, lets you use the website as a portal to find and set up games. Gathering squad-members for it is being made as easy as possible with the addition of "My Killzone" identity pages, but there's also a Duel mode if you fancy a quick head-to-head.

A pair of new maps in the shape of a Prison and Construction site are also being tossed in, and will be playable in all of the existing multiplayer modes.

You can grab the free update from the yourpsp.com store, too, but then you'd miss out on all the planned updates and community specials Sony has planned for the official site.

Just make sure you're aware of the download instructions and have enough space on your memory stick for the download.

Killzone: Liberation is a third-person shooter that stands out well against the competition. And the only thing holding us back from labelling it as an essential purchase was the lack of a real online mode, which has now seemingly been addressed.
