It sounds like Xbox One will get mouse support

Xbox One will support mouse controls in the near future, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has said.

Talking to a fan on Twitter about the upcoming Xbox One to Windows 10 game streaming, Spencer said that he also liked the idea of streaming content the other way too.

Spencer said that Microsoft did not yet have a plan in place, and fan Leandro G. Barbosa replied saying that surely Xbox would need full keyboard and mouse support for that to work.

"Those aren't far away," Spencer confirmed. "Mouse is what we'd need to add."

Xbox One already supports keyboards in specific situations.

But it isn't clear if mouse support will be offered for games, although some cross-platform titles such as Fable: Legends will already include PC controls in their Windows 10 builds.

Microsoft has previously confirmed that Windows 10 apps will work on Xbox One - such as the the company's new internet browser Microsoft Edge. Keyboard and mouse controls for these apps would make sense.

The final version of Windows 10 is due to roll-out to PC users from next week. Xbox One will receive a refreshed UI later this year with many Windows 10 features built in, such as virtual assistant Cortana.
