iPhone and iPad space game Rogue Star out now

For the mobile elite.

iOS space combat and trading game Rogue Star launches today.

It costs £3.99 / $4.99 from the App Store and works on iPhones and iPads. As a premium title, there are no in-app purchases.

Rogue Star is by indie developer James Duncan, who worked on Fable 2 and Fable 3 before quitting Microsoft-owned developer Lionhead to start up his own studio, RedBreast.

Duncan's original mission with Rogue Star was to re-ignite interest in the space combat and trading genre. Since the game's reveal in 2012, the genre has enjoyed a revival, with Chris Roberts' Star Citizen continuing to generate huge revenue, and David Braben's Elite: Dangerous out.

Rogue Star includes ship on ship combat, station auctions at which you can bid for cargo and choose where to offload it, and ship upgrading.
