Indie Games Uprising 3 set for September

Indie 'n summer.

The third annual Indie Games Uprising - an unofficial take on Summer of Arcade for indies - is set for 10th - 20th September.

The line-up is designed to debut the best XBLIG has to offer and this year's selection certainly looks impressive and varied. The full line-up is as follows:

  • DieHard Dungeon, Tricktale
  • City Tuesday, Chris Zukowski
  • Gateways, Smudged Cat
  • Pixel, Ratchet Game Studios
  • Sententia, Michael Hicks
  • Smooth Operators: Call Center Chaos, Andreas Heydeck
  • XenoMiner, Gristmill Studios
  • Entropy, Autotivity
  • Qrth-Phyl, Hermitgames

We've already written about Smudged Cat's Gateways, a 2D take on Portal with some P.B. Winterbottom-esque fourth dimensional cloning thrown in for good measure.

City Tuesday is about a man repeating the last five minutes before his city gets blown up. Like a mini-Majora's Mask, he must prevent this cyclic doomsday by snagging a series of bombs hidden throughout the city, presumably on a Tuesday.

Qrth-phyl is described as "an arcade documentary of classic maze/snake mechanics," Pixel is a first-person shooter/puzzle game, Entropy is a 3D puzzler, and Smooth Operators is a strategy sim about managing a call center.

Elsewhere, Diehard Dungeon is a roguelike, Xenominer is a block-building sandbox game, and Sententia is described as "a game that explores the challenges we face to keep our imagination and creative spirits alive as we grow."
