Highly-praised indie adventure Terraria will be released on PlayStation Vita this summer, publisher 505 Games has announced.

The 2D sandbox title scored a fab 9/10 in Eurogamer's XBLA Terraria review yesterday.

Terraria launched this week for Xbox 360 worldwide and for PlayStation 3 in North America. A European PS3 launch is due "quite soon", Sony said in yesterday's PlayStation Store update.

The game first launched in 2011 for PC, and has since sold a whopping 2 million copies.

"We are tremendously excited about bringing Terraria to PS Vita," Sony Computer Entertainment Europe exec Shahid Ahmad said. "For us this is a real coup, the opportunity to bring such a loved game to one of our platforms is really exciting. The touch screen will ensure a totally unique experience."

Eurogamer's YouTube editor Ian Higton has been hooked by the Xbox Live Arcade version. Footage from our latest live-stream lies below.
