Mile-high robots fight Lovecraft-esque monsters in Pacific Rim: The Video Game

WWE dev re-imagines Guillermo del Toro's upcoming epic.

A video game version of Guillermo del Toro's upcoming blockbuster Pacific Rim has been spotted on the Aussie ratings board website.

The film sees huge human-created mechas take on Lovecraft-style monsters the size of skyscrapers.

Its video game conversion appears to be a brawler, with development handled by regular WWE studio Yuke's.

The Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification gave the game a Mature rating for fantasy violence (thanks, Joystiq).

Xbox Live Arcade box art leaked to NeoGAF reveals the game will be a downloadable title, while screenshots depict the titans squaring up and entering battle.

Pacific Rim is set to hit cinemas in July - it's safe to expect the video game version around then, too.
