GTA IV to have 15 multiplayer modes?

Plus: new trailer coming this month.

The Spanish edition of PSM3 magazine is reporting there are 15 multiplayer modes in Grand Theft Auto IV.

That's according to n4g and scans of the article appearing on GTAforums.com.

Apparently up to 16 players can compete online. You can create your own character, choosing their skin colour, gender, hair, clothing and so on.

Along with obligatory Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes there's Mafia Work and Team Mafia Work, where you race to pull off hits faster than your competitors. In Cops 'n' Crooks those playing as police must capture others playing as criminals, using a GPS system to track their movements.

Hangman's Noose is based on one of the single-player missions and sees you and up to three friends providing protection for Kenny Petrovich. This means fighting off SWAT teams as you travel across the city.

The article lists 14 of the multiplayer modes by name, as follows:

  • Hangman's Noose
  • Car Jack City
  • Bomb da Base
  • Bomb da Base II
  • Mafia Work
  • Team Mafia Work
  • Deathmatch
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Turf War
  • Cops 'n' Crooks
  • Race
  • GTA Race
  • Deal Breaker
  • Free Roam

Rockstar has yet to respond to requests for comment.

Meanwhile, it has announced the final trailer for GTA IV will be released on Thursday March 27th. It's titled, 'Good Lord, What Are You Doing?' or alternatively, 'Everyone's a Rat'. We're also promised updates to the music, screenshot and download sections on the official website this Friday.

Grand Theft Auto IV will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 29th. For all related news, screenshots and videos, visit the gamepage.
