The quest itself is simple in theory: there are five duellists dotted around the island of Tsushima. You might even have found and beaten some yourself already, which will give you a head start.

You need to defeat these assassins in the standard duels, that you may well have already faced along the way - you certainly will if you've done some other Mythic Tales before this one. Here's a quick cheat sheet for finding them.

How to win the duels

Duels don't really vary, with duellists all pulling from the same pool of attacks and animations - it's just some might be more inclined to use certain abilities more often. With that said, here's our standard advice for winning duels in Ghost of Tsushima. Be sure to equip the right armour and stock up on Resolve by winning a standoff or two beforehand, too!

  • Stay in stone stance as you're always facing a swordsman.
  • Heal when you get the little boost in resolve, during those tense sword-clashing pauses.
  • Keep sidestepping, as it's easy to land hits when you get around the side of your enemy.
  • Attack when your enemy sheathes their sword - it's a free couple of hits, and if you don't they'll launch a very fast unblockable attack.
  • Limit yourself to three attacks before you stop and prepare to parry or dodge - you won't land more than this before the enemy recovers!

How to find and beat Kojiro in Ghost of Tsushima's The Six Blades of Kojiro

Once you've won all five duels, head back to Yamato and he'll tell you Kojiro is waiting - he's at Omi Monastary.

Specifically, look for this big red tree by the waterfalls - just behind it is the entrance to the cave where Kojiro's waiting. He's probably the toughest, but you'll be ready by now!

The same rules as the above apply here. The main thing you need to focus on is staying calm, as Kojiro is quite aggressive.

Beat him - and you will, keep at it! - and you'll unlock Kojiro's Armour, which increases resolve gains and damage with Ghost weapons a bit. Congrats on beating legendary scumbag Kojiro!
