How to start The Legend of Tadayori in Ghost of Tsushima

The Legend of Tadayori is available early on in Act 1 of Ghost of Tsushima. The tale's location itself is in Tsutsu prefecture, in Izuhara.

Note: this one's by the player icon arrow - ignore the blue marker down the bottom!

Specifically it's just south of the river bend called Rustling Bend. You'll find the musician Yamato ready to hand the Tale out at a camp there, near a Bamboo Strike.

The Legend of Tadayori: how to find the Violet Flowers

Your first task after speaking to the musician Yamato is to travel to northern Azamo.

When you get there, you'll be prompted to look for some violet flowers. They won't be far - ride towards the centre of the area marked on your map and you'll find a large rocky hill with purple flowers all around it - that's what you're after!

You then need to head to the top of that hill to the Violet Crown.

At the top, you'll find a couple of things to examine - one of them being a painting, which is in fact a kind of rudimentary map.

The location it displays isn't far. Turn around and look out towards the horizon and you'll see a mountain - that's where you're going.

Ride out and cross the river until you reach that mountain and look for a whole in the rocks, with a lantern by it. Head inside.

Out the other side you'll need to do a very brief bit of climbing until you enter a clearing. Follow the waypoints inside and there'll be a cutscene.

How to win the Duel at Tadayori's rest and beat Kaede in Ghost of Tsushima's The Legend of Tadayori

Time for a duel! This is probably the easiest one in the game, as Kaede isn't a "proper" enemy, mistaking you for a thief, and doesn't have much of a guard.

Follow the usual rules with duels - heal when blades clash, sidestep to attack from the side, stay in Stone Stance and dodge any unblockable attacks, and you'll do just fine.

When the duel's over, Kaede will tell you the armour is hidden somewhere else, down by Azamo Bay.

How to get Tadayori's Armour in Ghost of Tsushima

Once you reach Azamo Bay, you need to head out of town to the east and look for some climbing grips to get up the top of the hill - or just take the long way round.

At the waypoint you'll find the musician Yamato, surrounded by Mongols. Take them down, and he'll give you Tadayori's Armour, which gives you some cracking bow-related boosts. Use it to take down the waves of onrushing Mongols with headshots, and you're done!
