Getting started with Fallout 4 base building

To me. To you.

Fallout 4 differs from previous games in the post-apocalyptic series in that it lets you build bases. But the way the game introduces this eye-catching feature to the player can be a tad overwhelming - and confusing.

In Fallout 4 there's junk everywhere. That, you'd expect. Bethesda's open-world games are littered with items, many of which you can happily dump or sell to vendors.

But in Fallout 4 most of the items have a use when it comes to crafting. And if you fancy getting stuck into the base building side of the game, you'll need resources.

So, where to begin? Eurogamer's Ian Higton is here to help with his very own "Base building for beginners" video. It's worth a watch. After a couple of hours with Fallout 4 last night, the crafting left me befuddled. Ian's video helped steer me in the right direction.
