SoulCalibur 5 sales aren't as strong as SoulCalibur 4's

SoulCalibur 5 has now sold 1.56 million copies worldwide since its release in February 2012.

That's fewer than SoulCalibur 4, which notched up more sales in less time: 2.3 million in seven months.

Those figures and more come from Namco Bandai's new third-quarter earnings report.

SoulCalibur 5 nears 1.4m sold.

Fighting game Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is nearing one million sales.

It shifted 840,000 copies in Europe and Japan up to the end of September 2012, Namco revealed in its financial report. The game launched in early September, so that figure relates to only a few weeks on sale.

With the game due to launch on Wii U soon, TTT2 should hit the million mark - a total that will please the money men at the Japanese publisher.

Several game modes and characters have been highlighted in a new Tekken Tag Tournament 2 trailer - shown below.

Since the trailer couldn't decide if it wants to be in Japanese or English, we were unable to decipher all of it, but could make out that game modes include: Arcade Battle, Ghost Battle, Team Battle, Practice, Survival and Time Attack.

Additionally it contains pandas fighting kangaroos and customisable clothing, so you can deck your fighter out in a stuffed animal backpack like Charlize Theron in Arrested Development.

Pre-order DLC characters, Collector's Edition revealed.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 releases in Europe on 14th September, Namco Bandai has announced.

Pre-order at select shops and you'll get one or more of four additional DLC characters free: Michelle Chang, Angel, Kunimitsu or Ancient Ogre immediately at launch.

In the UK, pre-orders at ShopTo get Michelle Chang and Angel DLC. Pre-orders at Zavvi get Kunimitsu and Ancient Ogre.

Upcoming fighter Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will not feature paid-for DLC locked onto the retail disc, Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed at Namco Bandai's Global Gamers Day event in Las Vegas.

Namco Bandai has shed more light on its feature-length CG movie Tekken Blood Vengeance.

In a group interview at Namco Bandai's LevelUp event this morning, attended by Christian Donlan for Eurogamer, Tekken project leader Katsuhiro Harada revealed Blood Vengeance has actually been in development since January 2010.

The film, based on the cinematic intros of Tekken 5 and Tekken 6, is stereoscopic 3D throughout.

A sequel to PlayStation 2 launch game Tekken Tag Tournament is in the works, Namco Bandai announced at the Tokyo Game Show.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is due out in Japanese arcades in the summer of next year, with Western release dates to be determined.

As the title suggests, TTT2 focuses on two-on-two battles, with characters swapping in mid-combo to dish out juggle damage.
