Enslaved sales break 700k barrier

Tekken 6 continues to do the business.

Fighting game Tekken 6 sold 1.15 million units in the US alone during publisher Namco Bandai's 2011 financial year - despite the game launching in 2009.

Ninja Theory's excellent PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 adventure game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, which launched in October 2010, shifted 730,000 units worldwide by the end of March 2011.

Although the new figure is up from the 460,000 worldwide sales Namco Bandai reported for the game in February, the Japanese publisher will still consider Enslaved to have performed poorly it initially targeted a million sales.

That's the bizarre beat-'em-mode that's a bit like Streets of Rage in 3D.

Now Tekken 6 will join the likes of Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Final Fight, Two Crude Dudes and so on and so forth as bruised adventures you can enjoy with a chum.

Tekken 6 online patch on Thursday

Namco Bandai ironing out the Kings.

Namco Bandai will release a PS3 and Xbox 360 patch for Tekken 6 on Thursday that should fix the online multiplayer side of the fighting game.

Input response will be quicker and sharper and data transfer will be less clumsy when spectators are watching an online battle, meaning the host's machine won't be pummelled for bandwidth.

Search priorities will be selectable for ranked matches to help find a more desirable opponent and there will be the option of cancelling a bout once an opponent's signal strength bar is visible - and those, incidentally, should more accurately reflect a fighter's internet connection.

Tekken 6 lag patch in development

"To improve the online experience."

Namco Bandai has said it plans to patch the online multiplayer side of Tekken 6 after everyone moaned about it in their reviews.

According to Eurogamer's resident beat-'em-up hero Matt Edwards, the lag is noticeable even when you have a solid green connection. Not as bad as King of Fighters XII, he wrote in his 7/10 review, but not as good as Street Fighter IV or BlazBlue.

"To improve the online game experience for players," the publisher said in a statement (thanks Joystiq), "Namco Bandai games is developing a downloadable update which will be available as soon as it has passed rigorous testing procedures."
