I removed my brain because I was bored. I replaced my entire head with lump of glowing metal because there was nothing else to do. My legs are now pistons because it was the only decision I felt I had to make. My chest is a mass of steel and circuitry because surgically removing my torso seemed like more fun than walking down another corridor.
Much has been made of the moral dilemma at the heart of Space Siege, a sorta-sequel to the Dungeon Siege action-RPGs. It's a similar concept to BioShock's ethical quandary, but instead of murdering little girls in order to gain more instant power, here you're swapping parts of your body for cybernetic upgrades, and losing your humanity whenever you do so.
Or not: you can refuse the upgrades and thus stay in touch with your sensitive side. Trouble is that, as an extension of Gas Powered Game's ongoing philosophy of streamlining RPG memes, there are almost no other decisions to make in the game. Levelling up happens at pre-ordained plot points, new powers and weapons are similarly handed out at prescribed locations and all loot is composited into generic 'upgrade components'. You do get to distribute skill points across an array of stat boosts, but it's rare that you'll notice any significant variance from doing so.
Gas Powered Games has popped out a PC demo for Space Siege.
SEGA has whipped out its calendar and put dates alongside its upcoming titles, including Sonic Unleashed, which will be out this November. However, Aliens: Colonial Marines and Empire: Total War both fall into 2009.

The PC game may not be out till the autumn, but Gas Powered Games is already thinking about doing a console version of Space Siege.
Although their existence won't come as a surprise to anyone, Microsoft has announced the names of a few upcoming games that have found their way into the Games for Windows line-up.
It's not the most optimistic vision of the future we've ever heard, but the back-story to Space Siege runs something like this - in the far future, humanity ends up getting its backside soundly kicked by the insect-like leg of a superior alien race. So soundly kicked, in fact, that at the start of them game they destroy the Earth, and manage to attach a pod full of teeming masses of over-evolved-cockroach baddies to the vast ship on which you're escaping, the Armstrong.
SEGA has revealed more information for its "chilling" upcoming science fiction role-playing game Space Siege.
It's being developed by Chris Taylor and his team at Gas Powered Games, the studio responsible for Dungeon Siege and Supreme Commander.
Space Siege promises to have tactical combat action, where you'll need to dynamically use your environment to outsmart and lay ambushes for your enemies. You'll do this with the help of your customisable robot partner, HR-V.
