Microsoft's announced the Xbox Games With Gold lineup for June.

A high-profile Smite streamer has left developer Hi-Rez Studios after making controversial comments about suicide while playing the game.

MOBA sensation Smite is coming to PS4 later this year, just as the PEGI-listing suggested, where it will remain a free-to-play affair.

Hi-Rez Studios' popular eSports title currently boasts over 14m players since its launch on PC in 2013. It since saw an Xbox One port last year and has become so popular that it now holds the third highest prize pool for any eSports tournament (after Dota 2's The International, which claims the top two spots).

The PS4 port is currently in closed alpha with a closed beta coming in early March. You can register for that here.

Popular MOBA Smite is headed to PlayStation 4, a new ratings board listing suggests.

The Xbox One version of Smite will be released next Wednesday, 19th August.

This is the over-the-shoulder action-packed MOBA from Hi-Rez Studios, maker of Tribes: Ascend. It's already popular on PC - it had 10 million players as of July - and is into its eSports groove. Now it's the turn of console gamers on Xbox One, who've been putting the game through its paces in a beta until now.

PC and Xbox One accounts can be merged - as in, you can bring your PC progress onto console - but not everything carries over and it will only be available for a limited time. There's a FAQ about it on the Smite website.

Hi-Rez is a developer with panache. Tribes: Ascend was brilliant. Now there's a new game called Smite, a zoomed in, third-person battle arena. A MOBA with a different perspective, and the sort of thing that would work well on a console.

Free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game Smite launches on 25th March 2014, developer Hi-Rez Studios has announced.

Just after the game launches, Hi-Rez, maker of free-to-play shooter Tribes Ascend, will launch a $100,000 Smite tournament in the studio's home town of Atlanta, Georgia, which will invite the top four European and top four US teams.

Smite has secured 2.5 million registered players to date through its open beta. All Smite players' progress in the open beta will carry over to the game's general release. All beta players who reach level 30 before the launch date unlock the Cacodemon skin for the playable god Ymir.

The CEO of Hi-Rez, developer of Global Agenda, Tribes Ascend and the upcoming MOBA, Smite, has offered candid feedback on the ups and downs of the US studio's history in the hope of addressing what he describes as "misinformed conclusions" about the company.

There are no major updates planned for free-to-play shooter Tribes Ascend in the next six months, developer Hi-Rez Studios has confirmed.

Instead, the studio will focus on development of its MOBA, Smite.

And even after six months, it seems likely Hi-Rez will turn its attention to other projects. Boss Todd Harris wrote on the studio's forum that after Smite is done and dusted, there are other games to consider.
