UPDATE 7/9/17: Not content with giving you a chunk of the game free on launch, developer MercurySteam will let you play Raiders of the Broken Planet's opening missions a week early without charge.
An open beta featuring the first two levels of the game will be available next Friday 15th and Saturday 16th September.
These levels consist of First Round, a tutorial mission which is the only single-player part of the game, and the first main campaign level, Hanging by a Thread, which can be played in single-player and multiplayer and from either side of the game's four-versus-one gameplay.
Raiders of the Broken Planet is a sci-fi action game from Spain's MercurySteam, developers of the well-liked Castlevania: Lords of Shadow games and next month's Metroid: Samus Returns on 3DS. It features an intriguing mix of storytelling and 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay, and also apparently has four campaigns. Sounds like there's a lot going on here.
The game is in closed beta right now, and if you'd like to check it out you're in luck - we have 15,000 keys just for you. To be precise, we have 5000 each on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Steam. Note that the PS4 keys are for the Europe region and thus can only be redeemed on EU PlayStation Network accounts. I know I know, the internet knows no borders, but just try telling Sony that.
Have a look at the trailer below and if you're intrigued, use one of the three widgets below to claim a key. Don't take too long about it though, because it's first come, first served.
Raiders of the Broken Planet, the next game from Castlevania Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam, has four campaigns.
In October 2010, a little-known Spanish developer, backed by a veteran Konami employee finally given his shot at the bigtime, released a reboot of one of the most beloved Japanese-created games of all time. Despite concern among the franchise's most ardent fans, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow launched to critical and commercial acclaim. The overlords at Konami were pleased.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam has debuted the first footage of its upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer game Raiders of the Broken Planet.
In development for PS4, Xbox One and PC, Raiders of the Broken Planet is described as a "distinctive blend of shooting, brawling and thinking man's strategy."
The following trailer gives us a look at its colourful art style and mix of third-person melee combat and shooting.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam has announced an upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer title called Raiders of the Broken Planet.
Due later this year on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the developer described Raiders of the Broken Planet as a "distinctive blend of shooting, brawling and thinking man's strategy." It's about a planet that contains a powerful substance called Aleph that everyone is fighting over.
Raiders of the Broken Planet will be released episodically. "We saw an exciting opportunity with this title to take advantage of digital distribution and offer the game at a much lower entry point than would otherwise have been possible," the studio said. "This model also allows us to work closely with gamers to create something that they can help shape too."
