Professor Layton developer Level-5 announced a new game in the storied puzzle series, this time starring the progeny of the top hat-sporting scholar.
Akira Tago, the puzzle designer behind the Professor Layton series, passed away on 6th March at 90 after falling victim to interstitial pneumonia.
Professor Layton and Fantasy Life publisher Level-5 has revealed that the next entry in each of these series will be released as smartphone titles.
As reported by Siliconera, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino announced the upcoming Professor Layton title, currently just called Layton 7, at its Level-5 Vision 2015 event in Japan.
A screenshot teased some card-related gameplay - ostensibly part of a puzzle - wherein players will have to solve a riddle to determine which character is a vampire. It's unclear if this is part of the overall plot, or simply a one-off brainteaser.
Children are kind of useful, giving people who no longer fancy going to the pub very often something to fill their time with instead. They also ensure the continuation of the human race solely by existing, which is pretty impressive when you think about it.
