Uwe Boll launches Kickstarter for Postal 2 film

A "controversial comedy" to deal with "current political issues".

Lifetime Razzie award winner Uwe Boll wants $500,000 to fund a Postal 2 movie.

The film's Kickstarter campaign will run for two months. If successful, Boll will write, produce and direct the project by himself.

"Postal 2 will be a controversial comedy in which we take up current political issues," he describes. "We take the biggest scandals of our democracy, like the happenings about Julian Assange and Edward Snowdon and show that there is no difference between our democracy and the prison camps in Russia or China."

Controversial Running With Scissors title Postal is in the news again after a man who is said to be a fan of the game launched an attack on worshippers at a Moscow synagogue.

According to Russian news site Pravda, 20 year old Alexander Koptsev entered the building yesterday at about 5.30pm and launched an assault which left eight people injured. Four of those hurt were taken to hospital and are said to be in a "severe condition."

Koptsev's father told Pravda: "My son has never been a member of any religious or political organisation. I think that he could see all those Nazis, extremists and skinheads only on TV."

Following the recent announcement that a big screen adaptation of Postal is in the works, Running With Scissors CEO Vince Desi has gone on record to defend his decision to allow Uwe Boll to direct the film.

Postal developer Running With Scissors has confirmed that a big screen adaptation of the game is in the works - and that the infamous Uwe Boll will direct.

"I see Postal like a mirror for our society - funny, violent, absurd!" Boll said.

"So then the movie must be powerful, strange, and so full of the game's political incorrect outrageousness that if we do it correct, we will all probably end up in jail!"
