It's free to try until 14th March, and you'll get a super-rare Celebi for your trouble (thanks, Serebii).

Pokémon Bank was originally set to launch in December, but its arrival was delayed after its initial Japanese launch left Nintendo servers struggling to meet demand.

Lucario only available to Eurogamer Pokéreaders.

To celebrate the upcoming Pokémon Video Game Championships in Europe, from 1st March Eurogamer is teaming up with The Pokémon Company International to offer a Fighting-type Pokémon to help anyone trying to battle their way to victory.

The special Lucario Pokémon knows the Bullet Punch move, a powerful attack that is usually difficult to learn. This Lucario also has the Hidden Ability Justified, increasing its Attack when it takes damage from Dark-type moves. We should all be so fortunate.

Apparently this Lucario is considered by many to be the strongest Fighting-type Pokémon, so if you bring him to bear on opponents in the Pokémon Video Game Championships, you should be laughing all the way to the Pokébank (disclaimer on behalf of Pokélawyers: Pokébank is not an official Pokémon Company International product).

Website registered, event scheduled.

A website URL has been registered for Pokémon Grey.

As spotted by Nintendo Buzz, the site was logged by Melbourne IT Digital Brand Services - the same outfit that set up pokemonblackwhite.com which is currently used by Nintendo of America.

Nintendo hasn't confirmed any plans for a third string to the Black/White bow, but it would come as no surprise. All core Pokémon titles have seen a third release appear about a year after launch.

The Pokemon Masters

A gathering of monsters at the National Championships.

From our lofty vantage point in the hardcore gaming tree house, with its hand drawn "no gurls allowed" sign, stacks of dog-eared games magazines and lingering aroma of sour musk and Doritos, we tend to have a limited idea of what competitive gaming can be.

Pokémon Black/White nets 1m Euro sales

UK tally tops 150k in just two days.

Nintendo's DS RPG double act Pokémon Black/White shifted over a million copies in Europe in their first 10 days on sale.

A spokesperson for Nintendo told Eurogamer that the game, which launched on 4th March, had sold 150,000 copies in two days in the UK, making it the country's biggest ever Pokémon launch.

The announcement comes soon after news that the games topped the million mark in the US after just one day on sale, with Japan sales soaring past the five million mark six months after its September launch there.

Pokémon Black/White sell 1m in a day

Franchise records are smashed.

Pokémon Black/White, the latest entries in Nintendo's beast-battling handheld series, notched up a whopping 1.08 million purchases in its first day on sale in the US alone.

Pokémon Black & White

Pokémon Black & White

Monochrome magic.

If you're on the outside looking in, the Pokémon series probably looks like the same game released over and over for 15 years, each time to fresh brood of gullible children. It's not a fair or correct assumption, but I can see where you're coming from.

Pokémon reinvents itself to a greater or lesser extent every three years or so, but half-steps like Platinum and remakes like HeartGold muddy the distinction between generations. And where Silver and Gold's astonishing sprawl of new features more than justified their existence (and their re-release last year), Diamond and Pearl's more timid adjustments to the formula were less defensible.

It's about time for a spring-clean, and Pokémon Black and White are exactly that. Game Freak has abandoned the guaranteed brand recognition of Pikachu and his 500-odd friends for an entirely new cast of 156 quirky, endearing, and occasionally disturbing monsters. It's difficult to overstate how unexpectedly brave this is for a heavyweight Japanese series; imagine Capcom releasing a new Street Fighter without Ryu and Ken. It signals an eagerness to break with the past, a new spirit of regeneration.

Pokemon: Black/White not far behind.

Wonderful Wii platformer Super Mario Galaxy 2 has sold a whopping 5.1 million units worldwide, Nintendo has announced.

Mario's latest deserves its sales success: we awarded it 10/10 in our June review.

Phenomenon Pokémon: Black & White, though, will no doubt top it as Nintendo's best-selling game of 2010: the DS game is already on 4.07 million units having only gone on sale in Japan last month.

You know, for kids.

Imagine a world where Pokémon isn't a success. No animé spin-offs, no cuddly plush toys or plastic figurines and most importantly no stigma attached. Instead this niche little RPG is revered among gaming connoisseurs, its players free of the apparent social embarrassment that such associations currently bring.

Pokémon smashes sales record

Pokémon smashes sales record

Japan goes bonkers for Black/White.

Pokémon Black/White is the fastest-selling Pokémon game ever in Japan, shifting a staggering 2.63 million copies in its first two days on sale.

Andriasang reports the DS game smashed the 1.58 million two-day total that Diamond/Pearl managed when it launched in 2006.

Assuming customers only bought one version of the game, this would make it the fastest-selling title ever in Japan. The current record holder, Final Fantasy VIII, racked up 2,504,044 sales in its opening weekend back in 1999.
