It's been 20 years since the release of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and the game, as well as it's peculiar protagonist, still holds a special place in the hearts of many. So it was music to fans' ears when developer Oddworld Inhabitants revealed it was working on a new entry in the Oddworld quintology - Oddworld: Soulstorm.
Video game marketing is kind of a known formula. First you have your teaser, then comes the announcement, then a few gameplay reveals and pre-order incentives before launch day. With such a predictable cycle, it's easy to convince ourselves that we know how video game development works.
There's a new Oddworld game, subtitled Soulstorm, due for launch in late 2017.
Publisher Oddworld Inhabitants announced the title via oddworld.com/soulstorm, where a handful of story details are revealed.
Soulstorm will be a follow-up to Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, itself a reimagining of the original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee game.
