After raising more than $3.8m on Kickstarter, Mighty No. 9 has an awful lot to prove. Mega Man fans were delighted to see a spiritual successor developed by Keiji Inafune himself and backed the project in their thousands.
Some fantastic games came out in 2015. Unfortunately, quite a few (hopefully) fantastic games didn't come out in 2015. With the likes of The Legend of Zelda Wii U, Tom Clancy's the Division and Uncharted 4 all pushed back into 2016, I decided to take a look at some of the upcoming games we really ought to own by now.
Donlan and I sat down to play Mighty No. 9 a few weeks ago and had an awful lot of fun with it. Although we were hoping for a game that more closely resembled that initial artwork, it was difficult not to be won over by the gameplay itself.
