Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite will not feature at this year's Evo tournament - sounding the death knell for the embattled crossover fighting game.

Capcom's video game business had a strong quarter, despite crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite flopping hard.
Capcom's revealed some cool new costumes coming to fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite next month.
Capcom's released a trailer showing off Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite DLC characters Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Venom for the first time.
The trio come hit the crossover fighting game on 5th December, Capcom said.
The video below shows off each character's level three supers, which are appropriately flashy. Fan-favourite Venom looks the coolest character to me, although his voice acting sounds off.

Capcom's released the first gameplay of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite DLC characters Black Panther and Sigma.
The arrival of a new Marvel vs. Capcom game should be an event. It should send shivers down the spine. It should spark fingertips a-plinking on the buttons of fight sticks. Infinite, though, does none of these things.
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
Capcom has confirmed the DLC characters coming to fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.
In addition to the already announced Black Panther and Sigma, Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Venom are due out for the game later this year. Here's a statement from Capcom:
"We know there has been much speculation on who the remaining four DLC characters will be, and we are happy to announce that Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and the shape-shifting Venom will all be battling their way into Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite later this year. We are hard at work on these characters and can't wait to show them to you when they are ready!"
Capcom's put out a new video for upcoming fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite and I have to admit, the game looks a lot better than it has done in recent months.
The video, below, shows off Jedah, Ghost Rider, Dormammu and Firebrand, as well as a new Infinity Stone that looks like it'll bring some interesting new gameplay to the crossover series.
It's Jedah, though, who steals the show. The Darkstalkers villain has one of the best models in the game, cool voice acting and exciting moves. His ultimate attack sees a giant purple hand emerge from the floor, slam his opponent into the ground before crushing him into what looks like a giant 'sell your soul to the devil'-style contract. "I shall put your affairs in order," Jedah says, nonchalantly. Awesome!
Capcom just released a new story trailer for upcoming fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, and it looks like the developers have improved Chun-Li's face.
Capcom accidentally revealed its entire esports business plan for upcoming fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite on YouTube.
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite stars Chun-Li, as you'd expect of a new entry in the long-running fighting game series. But what you wouldn't expect is for the famous street fighter to look like this.
It's Comic-Con time of year once again, and so Marvel has unveiled more of its upcoming fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
At the Evo fighting game tournament this weekend Capcom hosted an exhibition match for the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - and during it we got our first look at gameplay for both Jedah and Gamora.
Gamora, from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, uses a combination of sci-fi guns and swords to do damage to her opponent. But it was the reveal of Jedah, who hails from Capcom's much-loved vampire-flavoured fighting game series Darkstalkers, that got the most attention from series fans.
Jedah first appeared in Darkstalkers 3 as the youngest of the three High nobles of Makai - even though he's over 6000 years old. He has a liquid body, which means he can change shape. He also uses his blood to create a rotating buzz saw.
Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite's roster of fighting characters has spilled online - and, so far, it includes no X-Men.
Having played Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite for a few hours, I know this much: it'll be a divisive fighting game.
Capcom has announced eight new characters for its crossover fighting game Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite - and a 19th September 2017 release date.
On the Capcom side we have Hiryu from Strider, Chun-Li from Street Fighter and Chris Redfield from Resident Evil. On the Marvel side we have superheroes Hulk, Thor, Hawkeye and Rocket Raccoon and supervillain Ultron.
That brings the number of playable characters announced to 14 - Ryu, Morrigan, Mega Man X, Captain America, Iron Man and Captain Marvel were already announced.
Captain America and Morrigan are confirmed playable characters in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.
The pair feature in the extended gameplay video, below.
So far we have six confirmed characters for the crossover fighting game. Representing Capcom we have Ryu, Mega Man X and Morrigan (the latter is from the Darkstalkers series). From Marvel we have Iron Man, Captain Marvel and Captain America.
