Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the UK's best-selling game, going by physical sales.

It's the fourth biggest Lego video game launch of all time, UK numbers company Chart-Track said.

So, its launch lands behind Indiana Jones (2008), Marvel Super Heroes (2013) and Batman (2008) in terms of Lego games. But, The Force Awakens enjoyed the biggest Lego Star Wars game launch.

We have to talk about the opening level. It's a slight spoiler - if you believe in spoilers for a Lego adaptation of a film you've already seen - so forgive me, or skip the rest of this paragraph if you must. But, here's the thing - Lego's take on The Force Awakens begins long before the film does, 30 years before, in an extended prologue which showcases every front from Return of the Jedi's Battle of Endor. It sees you stomping across Endor's moon in AT-STs, forming a band of Ewoks, fighting Darth Vader, defeating the Emperor, piloting the Millennium Falcon and blowing up the Second Death Star. Not only is it a complete surprise opening, it is an amazing first half hour.

You have probably played a Lego game or two before, and have a good idea how they work. But the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens introduces a couple of new features to the franchise.

First up, there's cover shooting - perhaps not the first thing you'd associate with Lego titles. And then there's space dogfighting - take that, Star Wars Battlefront.

There's a new trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens with our first glimpse of the title's gameplay - and a look at what other story sections Disney has allowed the game to include.

As reported previously, Lego's Force Awakens game will also feature story from the expanded Star Wars canon.

The trailer reveals we'll be seeing the smuggling mission Han Solo was on prior to Force Awakens. Another section will show Resistance pilot Poe Dameron's continuing adventures post-film.
