Echo & the Bunnymen lead singer Ian McCulloch has dismissed music games as "crap" - and wished instant death on everyone who plays them.
Rocker Jack White, who recently signed a deal for his songs to appear in the new Guitar Hero game, has complained about kids playing Guitar Hero games.
Prince has said he turned down a deal to put his songs in Guitar Hero. (That's the artist formerly known as the funny symbol thing Prince, not the one who talks to plants or the one who likes to dress up as Nazis or the one who's a massive racist.)
Activision has confirmed that the rumoured Guitar Hero: Modern Hits is in development at Vicarious Visions, although its release date is still to be confirmed.
The publisher said today that it would consist of 25 master tracks from the likes of Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Tenacious D, The Strokes and Weezer.
There's also a Fan Request system that "challenges players to jam like never before", by completing tasks fans demand like jamming in Hyperspeed, doing a Guitar Duel with active Bomb Notes or whammying every held note.
Activision is preparing a third Guitar Hero game for Nintendo DS subtitled "Modern Hits" according to an ESRB game rating.
