See what Uwe Boll's been up to.

A new trailer has been released for In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Uwe Boll's latest attempt at bringing a videogame to the big screen.

It features some sweeping shots of mountains, some scary monsters on horseback, some scary monsters crawling out of the mud and lots of people arguing about who is the rightful king - and makes it clear that In the Name of the King no way inspired by the Lord of the Rings films, oh no. There is also shot of Jason Statham punching a horse though so that bit might be quite good. Also: Burt Reynolds. [Who looks like he's really trying. - Ed]

You can watch the trailer over at Fantasticfilmsinternational.com. The first part of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege movie will be released in the US on 3rd November 2006, with part two following on December 1st.

Uwe Boll, director of the forthcoming Dungeon Siege movie, has renamed the film In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale in a bid to make it sound a bit more like it's a Lord of the Rings film.

DUNGeon siege, more like. Er... except not.

How many people have you killed? It's a nagging question for a games fan. How many simulated murders have you committed? I've been playing games for a couple of decades. For the newer generation, even if you're in your early teens, you'll probably have been gaming in some form since you were five. Hell even earlier if you were suckled on the Nintendo-teats of the late nineties. While games like God of War may seem like the killers, it's the quiet turn-based world of Civilisation where the real numbers pile up. Burn that town? Why not. Oh, there goes another few million.

I've no idea how many my particular score is. However, I do know that after playing Dungeon Siege 2 it has received a healthy increase.

This isn't a dungeon crawl. This is genocide.
