UPDATE #3: Curiosity's Android version is now back on the Google Play store - this time hopefully for good.

"Incredible, half the first layer has been tapped, will it be gone in first 24 hours? This has really exceeded my expectations. Can't wait to get back," Molyneux wrote on Twitter. "I have just been glancing at the stats, amazing results. Can't believe 625 people have purchased the 1 million chisel. And 2bn coins spent."

UPDATE #2: The Android version of Curiosity has now been pulled. Users reported the app as being incompatible with their Android devices.

Molyneux studio 22Cans needs you to be a Curiosity beta tester

Peter Molyneux studio 22Cans has thrown open requests for Curiosity - What's inside the Cube (formerly Curiosity) beta testers, as the social experimentation app edges ever closer to release.

Fancy being tapped up by the man himself? You can register your interest via the 22Cans Facebook page. You'll need an iPhone or iPad to take part.

You're asked to give your name, email, location and device type, as well as your reason for participating. Testers will need to devote an hour of their time around 4pm GMT this week.

Molydeux's fake Curiosity trailer from Microsoft is effing brilliant

Peter Molyneux doppelganger and satirist Peter Molydeux has created a phony trailer for his counterpart's ambitious Curiosity project supposedly put together by Microsoft.

Featuring plenty of explosions, purchasable skins based on ads, voice-chat, celebrity cameos and a PEGI 16 rating, this fake rough cut manages to turn even the most eccentric idea into a cheap marketing ploy.

"Not only were they showing my creation as it was not intended, but they were also trying to change the actual game design," said Molydeux on his Youtube page. "I cannot forgive them for this."
