Bohemia Interactive has announced a downloadable expansion called Army of the Czech Republic for Arma 2, due for release in Q3 this year.

You'll be able to bolster your Arma sandbox with a range of authentic Czech Army units and vehicles, including the L-159 Alca, Pandur II, and Dingo infantry mobility vehicle.

Fresh armaments include the locally produced CZ 805 BREN, CZ Scorpion EVO III and CZ 75 PHANTOM.

ArmA dev: ITV blunder won't boost sales

No plans for Arma 3 Gaddafi level.

ArmA 2 developer Bohemia Interactive does not expect ITV's recent Gaddafi documentary gaffe to impact ArmA sales one way or the other.

Bohemia Interactive CEO Marek Spanel told Eurogamer he does not anticipate a sales boost despite ArmA 2 recently hitting headlines. Nor does he expect a public backlash over the game now being linked with the Libyan dictator.

"We don't expect this bizarre event to influence sales of our products either way," Spanel said, "but still it's good to see gaming covered in more mainstream media."

Bohemia Interactive has confirmed to Eurogamer that ArmA II expansion Operation Arrowhead will be released worldwide on 29th June.

The expansion is set three years after the events of the main game and sees players fighting in the streets and mountains of Takistan.

Bohemia Interactive has announced that ArmA II's 1.05 patch will be released this month and includes a free downloadable campaign and new multiplayer mode.

The Eagle Wing mini-campaign expands on one of the full game's alternative endings, giving players control of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter as the war in Chernarus "has overgrown into a conflict between the USA and the Russian Federation".

Meanwhile, the new "When Diplomacy Fails" gametype expands on the warfare mode introduced in the original ArmA, which consists of a mixture of FPS and strategy elements. When Diplomacy Fails includes three-side support for diplomacy between all factions, and allows for up to 32 players.

505 Games is bringing ArmA II (Armed Assault II) to PCs in Europe on 26th June.

Developed by Bohemia, the game focuses on realistic, tactical warfare, where people paint their faces and dress up like trees. It's appealing.

The sequel treads a gamier path, adding "wound dressings" to patch-up downed comrades and a beefy storyline complete with narrative and NPC dialogue. But hardcore fans need not be worried: Bohemia has gone far from soppy.
