Games of 2012: Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition

The new kid on the blocks.

Those of you who enjoy the moving picture as well as the word on the page may have noticed that our YouTube channel has been more active than usual over the last couple of weeks. That's because we've brought on somebody to update it more frequently! His name is Ian Higton and from now on he will be posting Let's Play videos (gameplay capture with commentary), news snippets, interviews, live streams of new games and other bits and pieces to serve the audience that follows us on YouTube.

In general you can expect Ian's output to complement what we're writing on Eurogamer.net - for instance, when a review embargo expires you may be able to read our thoughts here and then head over to YouTube to watch Ian playing the game live and taking questions about it.

And from time to time, of course, Ian will be posting things on Eurogamer.net too. Like today. Our Games of 2012 series consists of a lot of written retrospectives on the games that have meant the most to us during the last 12 months, but in Ian's case we obviously asked for a video.

And given that Ian lives on YouTube, we didn't have to cast around very long to find something appropriate for him to talk about...

Subscribe to our YouTube channel for more of this sort of thing in 2013. And please say hello to Ian either here or over there!
