From's remastered US-president-in-a-mech-suit shooter Metal Wolf Chaos out tomorrow

On Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

From Software's cult classic all-American shooter Metal Wolf Chaos, in which the US president dons a mech suit to save America from evil, returns in remastered form tomorrow, 6th August, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Metal Wolf Chaos' exuberant third-person action first emerged in 2004. However, despite its choice of platform (Xbox) and star-spangled subject matter - players are cast as the power-armour-wearing 47th President of the United States, and must overthrow the traitorous vice president to regain control of the country - it never launched outside of Japan.

Which was a shame, because you get to patriotically smack a lot of things in the face, blow a lot of things up, and revel in dialogue gems such as:

Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.

The 47th President of the United States: Oh, yeah, sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

Metal Wolf Chaos' remaster - which is officially titled Metal Wolf Chaos XD, and arrives courtesy of publisher Devolver Digital and developer General Arcade - features increased visual fidelity (including 4K and 16:9 support), "refined" controls and gameplay, plus a new save system. It'll cost $24.99 USD (around £20) when it launches on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 6th August.
