Fortnite plane locations, X-4 Stormwing plane controls and stunts list

Where to find - and how to fly - the new Fortnite plane, the X-4 Stormwing.

The Fortnite plane is a new vehicle type, introduced as part of Season 7.

The X-4 Stormwing Plane is the game's first aerial vehicle, it allows up and four other players to fly over the map, perform stunts and more - as long as you know the plane controls and of course, plane locations.

If you're just getting started, our Fortnite Battle Royale tips and tricks can provide some helpful hints.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 3 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include red and blue lines on the Fortnite map and Rebuilding quests, including finding and destroying a IO Build Jammer. You can also learn how to get XP fast in Fortnite.

Fortnite plane locations

Fortnite's plane, the X-4 Stormwing, spawns in the same way as other vehicles do - across the map in specific spots, but only so many at a time.

Possible Fortnite plane locations include:

Fortnite plane locations map

More specifically, these are:

Frosty Flights, a named location in the south-west of the map:

West of Dusty Divot, on the mountain top:

East of Tomato Temple, just across the river

West of Paradise Palms, on the edge of the desert:

North of Happy Hamlet, on the mountain

South-east of Frosty Flights, where a single plane can spawn next to a camp (and one of the Forbidden locations):

North of Pleasant Park, on top of the mountain:

West of Lonely Lodge is an airstrip on a hill:

South-east of Pleasant Park and between the two mountains is an airstrip:

South of Lonely Lodge is a large derelict manor house. Head into the basement to find a disco room. Smash the left-most speakers to reveal a secret cave with a plane inside:

What this all means is there's no guarantee of finding plane locations, but it is only possible it will spawn where noted above. More plane locations might be added over time, especially as the map updates, so be sure to keep an eye out!

Chapter 3 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include the Prowler skin, along with the return of jetpacks and Choppas. As we enter Season 2's final month, it's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite. You can also complete Resistance challenges, including collecting signal jammers and finding an energy fluctuation. Don't forget about the Seasonal challenges, which include planting saplings and call an Air Strike on a tank. Meanwhile Victory Crowns and the character collection have returned, along with a new Victory Umbrella to earn.

Fortnite plane stunts

As well as basic flight, the X-4 Stormwing is also capable of stunts.

Fly upside down: Press both roll buttons together:

Barrel roll: Double tap a roll button:

Other things you should know about the X-4 Stormwing:

  • There's a mounted machine gun, which overheats if used for too long. Short bursts are recommended!
  • When you leave the plane, you'll begin to dive automatically.
  • Over the Christmas period, the plane saw a festive makeover:
  • If the plane gets destroyed, you won't die - you are ejected and hurt.
  • Clashing into another plane doesn't result an explosion right away either - most likely you'll just bounce off one another!
