Former Sony Liverpool developers announce Men's Room Mayhem for Vita, iOS and Android

From WipEout to the toilet.

Sawfly Studios, the developer founded by some of the people who made WipEout, has announced its first game.

Men's Room Mayhem is a line drawing game for PlayStation Vita, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices, and is due out in the coming weeks.

In the game you play a janitor who must guide his patrons around the men's room so they use the urinals, toilet cubicles and sinks while avoiding fights and having "nasty little accidents". As the waves increase so do the number of patrons.

Liverpool-based indie Sawfly was formed by four former senior Sony Liverpool developers after Sony shut the studio last year.

Sawfly is Mike Humphrey (ex-lead designer), Karl Jones (ex-lead designer), Jon Eggelton (ex-senior artist) and Andrew Jones (ex-lead programmer). Eurogamer interviewed each of them as part of a sweeping investigation into the rise and fall of the WipEout maker.

After forming the studio Ripstone, a local publisher, approached the team with the Men's Room Mayhem concept, and it didn't take Sawfly long to sign on the dotted line.

"When we had the idea for Men's Room Mayhem it was clearly a game that just had to be made," Phil Gaskell, creative director and co-founder of Ripstone, said.

"So when the opportunity to work with the ex-Studio Liverpool guys at Sawfly Studios came along we jumped at the chance to involve them, and we are absolutely delighted with the results. It's fun, funny, and for anyone unfamiliar or curious about men's room etiquette it certainly provides a crash course!"
