Flappy Bird is back - on Amazon Fire TV

Owl be damned.

Flappy Bird is back, but only for the Amazon Fire TV set-top box.

Dong Nguyen's massive mobile hit returns today as Flappy Birds Family. It has new features, including multiplayer, but as before, gameplay revolves around driving the bird through pipes and ghosts.

Back in May Nguyen promised Flappy Bird would return this month after hauling the game offline because, he claimed, it was too popular.

"It happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem," he said in an interview with Forbes. "To solve that problem, it's best to take down Flappy Bird. It's gone forever."

Not quite forever, then.

Will Flappy Birds Family eventually launch on iOS devices? Nguyen is yet to say.
