First Crysis 2 beta only on Xbox 360

No word on PC and PS3 testing.

The first round of Crysis 2 closed multiplayer testing appears to be for Xbox 360 owners only.

An invitation sent out to community site members (and Kotaku) declared that "this tech test is limited to Xbox 360 consoles only this time around".

That infers that PC and PS3 owners will get a chance to play at a later date. All three platforms will need testing, clearly.

Nevertheless, we're asking EA for clarification.

The closed multiplayer test invitation doesn't mention a start date.

Crysis 2 was, not so long ago, delayed from autumn 2010 to March 2011. Developer Crytek promises to set the bar technically for a console game (its first); EA is bullish about review scores of 9/10 or higher; and apparently stereoscopic 3D makes the game more fun.

Crysis 2 was playable at the Eurogamer Expo 2010 earlier this month. For an idea of what Crysis 2 multiplayer 2 holds, watch the video below.
