Fallout 4: Far Harbor - Visions in the Fog

Play along with the Children of Atom by performing their rites in our guide to this optional quest in Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC.

This is an optional quest. You can skip it by simply shooting your way through the Children of Atom's stronghold. Refer back to the previous page's guide to the quest Best Left Forgotten for how to do this.

So, you've decided to play along with the Children of Atom for now. Head out of The Nucleus through the side door to the North and over the bridge across the swamp. Once across the dilapidated crossing, skirt around the raised mound and head West, straight towards the quest marker. Make your way across the swamp ahead, crossing over at the shallows and keeping the map marker ahead, killing or avoiding any Gulpers that might show up and keeping an eye on your radiation levels.

Eventually you'll come upon Atom's Spring, a sepia-tinged pool of nuclear sop. If Boston's most irradiated attraction is the Glowing Sea, then this is the Polluted Pond. Head to the waterfall in its middle, crossing where it's safe, and take a drink from the source.

In your radiation-dazzled brain, a figure will appear at the top of the verge. Follow them and they will lead you to a 'holy site', the Children of Atom Shrine. Go to the entrance, but keep on your toes - you're about to be set upon by an angry pack of feral ghouls.

Inside, there is a password-locked terminal. Check out the far right corner of the room and you'll see a note called The Sacred Elements, telling you 'hisTableLEADSwithin'. There's a periodic table to the left of the terminal - check out what's scrawled on the locker nearby. Now use the terminal, grab the statue and return to The Nucleus.

Speak to Richter and tell him what you saw in your trial. As a reward, he will offer you a place in the creepy death cult. If you say no, nothing will happen, but you can return and change your mind. Tell him you're willing to join, and the quest will be complete. Nick will say he doesn't think it's a great idea, but who cares when you're rocking some sweet new cultist robes.

Walk into The Nucleus interior and listen to the sermon as you make your way up to High Confessor Tektus. Here you get the option to make your intentions known - will you tell Tektus you'd destroy Far Harbor or will you suggest they make peace? Valentine won't be a fan of the former, while he will appreciate the latter.

Whatever you decide, show him the mother icon you found in the vision next. You can then ask for access to DiMA's memories, telling the High Confessor you know how to access them. You will be granted unrestricted access to DiMA's terminal and can walk to the computer in our Best Left Forgotten guide without the bloodshed, so head back to that page through the link. You will still have to face the robotic security force, however.
