Eurogamer France launches!

It's a good thing we wore the big belt today, because Eurogamer's feeling a bit bigger this afternoon what with the launch of Eurogamer France!

Eurogamer.fr is a joint venture between Microscoop and Eurogamer Network, adding to our growing network, which already includes Eurogamer Germany and will soon grow to include Spain, too.

The new site is headed up by Editor in Chief Laurent Guerder and Deputy Editor in Chief Jérôme Bohbot, and adds to Microscoop's existing portfolio of French technology and games publications, and our own exciting portfolio of Eurogamer, GamesIndustry.biz, and when I get drunk and email the Guardian.

Much as Eurogamer.net and Eurogamer Germany do for people in the UK and Germany, Eurogamer France will cater to French-speaking gamers with a unique blend of incisive editorial and arguing about 8/10s on the comments. We'll join forces whenever possible, and we hope that those of you who read and speak French will enjoy another angle on the War Against Dropships.

Pumped yet? Of course you are, and not just because Laurent says they're "very proud to be associated with Eurogamer’s expansion because we have always been great fans of Eurogamer.net editorial quality" and because their target "is for Eurogamer.fr to become one of the very best French game sites".
