ESRB outs Witcher 2 on Xbox 360

Sabbath time.

The American age ratings board ESRB has outed an Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

There's no mention of PS3.

This ties nicely to what Eurogamer was told by developer CD Projekt yesterday: that a new Witcher game will be announced at E3 next month "that console gamers might be interested in" wink wink.

A console version of The Witcher 2 has always been on the cards, but CDP explained that completing the PC version was top priority for the Polish studio. Only then could work on a console adaptation of Witcher 2 begin unhindered.

The Witcher 2 was Eurogamer's Game of the Week last week.

"Fans of RPGs should consider The Witcher 2 a must-buy," declared Eurogamer's 9/10 Witcher 2 review. "There's simply no competitor that can touch it in terms of poise, characterisation and storytelling, or the way in which it treats you not as a player - someone to be pandered to and pleased - but as an adult, free to make your own mistakes and suffer a plot in which not everyone gets what they deserve."

The excellent Witcher 2.
