How to get a Crafting Kit in Elden Ring

To get a Crafting Kit, you must visit Kale and the Church of Elleh. This is found just north of the starting location in Elden Ring.

Talk to Kale, and then purchase the Crafting Kit for 300 Runes. With that done, it'll be added to your menu for the rest of the game.

Know that it's worth also buying your first cookbooks from Kale, which allow you to expand the items you can craft. It's worth investigating every merchant you come across, as they will be your primary source of cookbooks.

You can also find them from sourcing the environment, such as from corpses and bandit camps, where you can regularly others.

How to craft in Elden Ring

Unlike levelling or equipping Ashes of War, you can craft anywhere by opening your menu once you have a Crafting Kit.

Open your menu, then select Item Crafting - the second option down.

From here, you'll see all the items you can craft. All you need is a spare Cracked Pot to hold it in, and the required ingredients.

Most early game items require local fauna and flora. As you explore, keep an eye on anything growing on bushes or from the ground - most of it should stick out. Don't forget to search dungeons, too - where many unique ingredients can be discovered.

If you collect everything as you go, chances are you'll have enough to cover most basic items.
