EA announces new Command & Conquer

But…

EA has announced a new Command & Conquer game - for mobile.

The once dead real-time strategy series has been revived with Command & Conquer Rivals, a fast-paced 1v1 competitive multiplayer game.

EA demoed the game on-stage during its EA Play media briefing, with a match between two RTS experts iNcontrol and nickatnyte.

The map seems small - in fact it doesn't look like you can move the camera at all. There's infantry and vehicle units competing for control points, and base structures to destroy. Factions seen include Global Defense Initiative and Brotherhood of Nod. It looks like you generate a resource over time and tap to spend it on units that spawn on the battlefield.

Command & Conquer Rivals is due out on iOS and Android.
