Dungeon Runners gets Chunk 2

Good name for a patch, that.

NCsoft has released an update for free-to-play MMOG Dungeon Runners called "Chunk 2", which introduces a few gameplay refinements as well as in-game adverts for non-paying members.

As we explained in our surprised and delighted review, Dungeon Runners costs USD 4.99 per month to subscribe to, and this blocks out the ads, which otherwise appear as a banner on top of the game window and on loading screens.

Chunk 2 also introduces more bank space, a secure item-trading system, "increased access to prime look" and balancing refinements to PvE and PvP. So the whole combat system, then.

"Chunk 2 unlocks an enormous amount of playable content for non-members that they didn't have access to before thanks to the addition of in-game advertising," said Stephen Nichols, NCsoft's producer and lead programmer for Dungeon Runners, who obviously felt paragraphs 1-3 of our story weren't a sufficient reflection of his efforts.

"Our non-member players are very happy they can now use what was previously members-only loot, and our members are really excited about receiving additional bank slots to hold their items. These changes, plus our new secure trade system, make this update a win-win for everyone!"
