Corvian Settlement

Cross the stone bridge, and immediately turn left. Head through the door, fight off the enemy inside, and collect the Ember.

  • If you like, you can continue to follow the building around and drop off the far side of the bridge to find a Simple Gem, then pull the lever to open the grating and retrace your steps.

Make your way up the slope, and just before you pass under a couple of tall arches an sword-wielding enemy will leap in and start fighting the creatures milling around the area. He's quick and has a couple of aerial attacks, so dodge roll to avoid getting hit, and when he's momentarily vulnerable after landing move in for your attack.

Once the area is clear, head between the rock and the side of the building beneath the bridge and follow round to the right; a few enemies will drop from above, so be careful not to fall over the edge while you fight.

Climb up the short flight of steps and ascend the ladder. From here you can drop down onto the walkway below to collect the Crow Talons on the roof opposite, or simply carry on across the rooftop and into the tower ahead - the enemies here have ranged ice attacks and dodging carries the risk of falling off the roof, so watch your footing.

Climb the ladder inside the tower, cross the narrow bridge, turn right, and head towards the next rooftop. There's a gem bug on another narrow bridge to the right as you approach, but beware: if you chase after it you'll be ambushed from above and may end up being knocked all the way back down to ground level.

Once you're on the rooftop don't miss the large soul next to the chimney on the right before dropping to the area below. However before you do that, there is something else:

  • Instead of dropping down, head for the far window on the roof and carefully climb through it onto the beam inside. Make your way across to collect a soul, then drop into the room below and fight off a couple of the larger enemies that you've encountered in the area. There's a Titanite Chunk and a Way of White Corona miracle up for grabs in here.

Head towards the building with the semi-circular porch area, make your way around to the right of it to find a Young White Branch and Rusted Coin in the graveyard, and then go inside.

As you approach the steps a knight will start monologuing as he makes his way towards you, and will attack once you get close. His sword has a long reach and deals flame damage, but it's slow so if you're nimble you can stagger him when he winds back to strike, and he's also vulnerable when his he tries to summon a magic shield - as soon as you see his left hand start to glow make your move.

When he's defeated, pull the lever at the far end of the room to lower a ramp to the upper level, head upstairs and talk to the NPC on the table, then head out onto the balcony. Turn right and drop down to the area below, open the door that leads back inside, and light the Snowy Mountain Pass bonfire.
