Street Cred explained: How does it work, and how do you get Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077?

Street Cred works separately from V's main levelling system. It's also XP-based, but this is obtained differently. You'll mainly obtain it from Gigs, which are jobs with their own category given by Fixers, who are characters that are always on the lookout for a merc available.

In a similar fashion, you can also help the NCPD with crimes around Night City. These have their own marker in the map, as well as unique objectives.

Lastly, always keep an eye for enemies that have a bounty on their heads - when scanning them, you'll see the description with their NCPD database profile, including how much Street Cred you're going to earn.

How to increase your Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077

Now that we've grasped the basics of Street Cred, it's important to know when to tackle these jobs. Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive game, and depending on your playstyle, it’s likely that you'll want to experience everything it has to offer.

Completing Gigs might not seem as a priority at first, but they're key to obtaining benefits from merchants and, therefore, better gear for your character.

These are the ways in which you can increase your Street Cred:

Following the main story - Main story quests will take you to new areas, hideouts, and enemy bases, which leads to stumbling upon enemies with bounties every so often. You are always likely to gain a level or two during these missions, so you won't be wasting time doing them - quite the opposite.

Completing gigs - These are rather snappy encounters located in the map that you can tackle at your own pace, and can go from rescuing a certain character from a hideout or blasting through an enemy group to retrieve an specific item.

Completing NCPD crimes - These are usually short, so we recommend you to tackle them as you're making your way towards other missions. It's a great way to earn some eddies, as well as experience (even if helping the police isn't exactly a very punk thing to do.)

Hunting down Wanted enemies - It's up to you to incapacitate or kill them, as they're all wanted dead or alive, but you should always keep an eye for these enemies during missions and also on the streets.

What is the fastest way to get Street Cred in Cyberpunk 2077?

There's no getting around it: the easiest way to obtain Street Cred XP in Cyberpunk 2077 is by completing Gigs around the city.

The silver lining is that they are everywhere, and you will most likely stumble upon at least a few of them when travelling to main jobs. The key is to make the most out of your travels - if you're heading to a new district, consider stopping midway and mark one of them to activate the GPS.

In addition, remember that you can access them from your journal at any time.

From there, just go on foot. It's likely that you'll only spend a couple minutes there, as they don't tend to be long. More complicated Gigs will lead you to retrieve an specific item - you can then go to any deposit machine and a secondary option will appear to drop it.

Luckily, there's always one nearby to the location where the job takes place, and it will appear marked on your map so you can get to it with your GPS. Others will require you to convince a person to tag along, but if anything, you can always incapacitate them.

We also recommend looking for Wanted enemies in the streets. It's easy to stumble upon gang groups or hostage situations (marked with a light blue start in the minimap) where you will most likely see one of them.

If you're unsure, an easy way to spot people with bounties is to look for green circles in your minimap. Scan them first to know what you're up against, and make haste.
