Crytek is delivering more vertigo-inducing VR thrills in The Climb 2

Coming to Oculus Quest later this year.

Crytek's sweatily enjoyable - and frequently alarming - VR clamberer The Climb is getting a sequel, and it's coming exclusively to Oculus Quest later this year.

As you might well imagine, The Climb 2 expands on the core first-person rock-climbing action of its 2016 predecessor, once again tasking fearless players is to reach the top of a specific route within the time limit, scoping out the speedier routes and shortcuts as they go.

For this follow-up, however, Crytek promises a range of exotic new environments - featuring "incredible views and dynamic elements" - including traditional mountain runs, city skyscrapers (seemingly including the Gherkin), and even erupting volcanoes.

Crytek says it'll be possible to "compete with friends and conquer leaderboards in asynchronous multiplayer modes" but hasn't offered any additional details at present. Doubtless we'll hear more as The Climb 2's "holiday season" launch approaches.
