Chronicles of Spellborn due in spring

Open beta testing to begin soon.

Fantasy MMO The Chronicles of Spellborn is to be released in the "second quarter of 2008", according to developers Spellborn International.

The news was revealed on the game's official site. The European massively multiplayer RPG will go into open beta testing soon, with specific release dates for each territory to follow.

Spring will be a busy time for fantasy MMO releases, with big hitters Age of Conan and Warhammer Online both lining up to take potshots at World of Warcraft in the second quarter. Some have even suggested WOW's second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, will be released in the same period, but we think they're being rather optimistic.

The Chronicles of Spellborn boasts a fast-paced combat system and music by Assassin's Creed composer Jesper Kyd. Take a look at some screenshots and video on the gamepage.
